Andharban, as the name suggests, simply means a ‘Dark Dense Forest’. During monsoons, this trek is one of the most refreshing treks of the Sahyadri. It is the most beautiful attraction of the Sahyadri range, which connects the Tamhini Ghat to the famous Konkan region. Andharban Trek is a Cross Country Trek. Old Trade Route That Connects Sahyadri Western Ghat Village to Kokan village. This is all descend trek with a gradual gradient. You will enjoy lots of waterfalls enroute. We need to cross 2 to 3 small water streams, which lead our way to the dense jungle. In daylight, sun rays are not able to reach the ground due to the dense forest. That’s why it is named Andharban (Dark Dense Jungle). A major part of the trek goes through some semi-dried forests with the river running parallel and sometimes crisscrossing through the route. One of the best weekend getaways near Mumbai and Pune, a must-visit place for nature lovers.
