The Roopkund Trek, famously known as the “Skeleton Lake Trek,” is one of Uttarakhand’s most fascinating high-altitude adventures. Located in the Chamoli district, the trek takes you through dense oak and rhododendron forests, vast alpine meadows, and dramatic Himalayan landscapes, reaching an altitude of approximately 15,700 ft. Starting from Lohajung, the trail passes through the breathtaking Ali Bugyal and Bedni Bugyal, offering spectacular views of Mt. Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, Chaukhamba, Kedarnath, and Neelkanth. The mysterious Roopkund Lake, surrounded by snow-clad peaks, is the ultimate highlight of this challenging Himalayan journey.
