About this trek

Sudhagad is one of the most magnificent forts in Maharashtra and holds a special place in Maratha history. Before Raigad was chosen as the capital of Hindavi Swarajya, Sudhagad was seriously considered for this honor. With its massive plateau, strategic fortifications, and rich heritage, it remains one of the most impressive forts in the Sahyadris. The fort is home to the ancient Bhorai Devi Temple, which serves as a shelter for trekkers even today. The beautifully preserved Maha Darwaja on the Dhomse side is considered a replica of Raigad's famous Maha Darwaja and stands as a testament to the architectural brilliance of the Maratha era.
